• M. Teixeira Soapstone opens a branch in San Francisco to supply soapstone to the California market. The new location for the Garfield, N.J. company is located off I-280 in the Design District at 725 18th St.
• Custom Building Products recently won the 2005 AIA/CES Award for Excellence from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The Seal Beach, Calif-based company received the honor in the commercial stakeholder category, for its commitment to high standards in quality continuing education.
• Cold Spring Granite Co. is providing more than 250,000 ft² of granite for interior and exterior use at the Capitol Visitors Center in Washington. The granite comes from Cold Spring Granite’s Minnesota quarries in St. Cloud, Rockville, Isle, and Ely, as well as quarries in Milbank, S.D., Lake Placid, N.Y., and Fredericksburg, Texas. All of the granite is being fabricated in Cold Spring, Minn.; the center is slated for a 2006 completion.
