• Universal Granite & Marble Inc. of Naperville, Ill., is now distributing natural-quartz surfaces from Quarella S.p.a. of Verona, Italy. The product is already in use in the United States, including 182,000 ft² at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
• ETemplate™ Systems, a division of Tri-Tech Solutions, Inc., and Aegis Commerce recently formed an alliance to import final measurement data directly from the ETemplate Photo’s finished digital template into StoneLogic™, a stone-specific business process and production management system. StoneLogic extracts the required measurement data and updates the quote for final pricing before it goes to production. All pricing adjustments are automatically recorded and displayed through an audit trail in the StoneLogic system.
• Testing Engineers International Inc. moved to larger quarters in early January; the stone and tile laboratory is now at 3455 South 500 West in Salt Lake City. The company’s mailing address and phone numbers remain the same; the main number is still 801-262-2332.
• IWT Tesoro Corp, parent company of International Wholesale Tile (IWT), reported revenues of $11.1 million for third quarter 2004,showing a 23-percent increase from the same period in 2003. The upbeat news came even as IWT, based in Palm City, Fla., dealt with hurricanes and other severe weather in the Southeastern United States.
