Yet Another U.S. Show?

VERONA, Italy – Is another U.S. stone-industry trade event in the offing?
Giovannie Mantovani, director general of VeronaFiere, producer of the annual Marmomacc stone show in Verona, made a strong indication recently about the idea. In announcing preliminary attendance numbers for Marmomacc 2004, he stated that, “we will organize an event in the United States in 2006, and we are looking closely at Eastern Europe.”
Marmomacc 2004, incidentally, drew more than 60,000 attendees – an approximate 10-percent increase from 2003’s event – with 30 percent of the crowd coming from outside Italy.
