• Antolini Luigi & C. of Sega di Cavaion, Italy, recently won an “Excellence in Advertising 2004” award for a placement in Architectural Record. The company’s advertisement was one of 34 selected by a panel of architects.
• TEC will hold a series of “Contractor Night” training sessions focusing on installation issues, including hands-on demonstrations of products. Information will be available on the sessions from local TEC distributors.
• Innovation Stone of Hauppauge, N.Y, recently received a $3 million investment from the New York State Common Retirement Fund for expansion of the dimensional-stone company’s commercial and residential manufacturing operations. The funding will come through the private-equity firm of Easton Hunt Capital Partners, which will match the state’s contribution for a total $6 million in financing
• Universal Granite & Marble Inc. opens UGM Wisconsin in Milwaukee in August with a 30,000 ft² showroom/warehouse facility. The operation is the fifth location for the Naperville, Ill., natural-stone supplier, and will service the entire Wisconsin market.
• C.E.M., a distributor for Universal Laser Systems Inc., recently moved to a new 2,000 ft² facility in Santa Ana, Calif.
