• Laurel Lower is the new marketing coordinator for SpecCeramics in Anaheim, Calif. She is a graduate of Willamette University in Salem, Ore., and is pursuing a masters degree in communication studies at California State University-Fullerton.
• Jim Whalen is the newest member of the sales team for Alpha Professional Tools in Wycoff, N.J. Whalen will cover the mid-Atlantic territory of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, southern New Jersey, western New York, North Carolina, central and eastern Pennsylvania, South Carolina, eastern Tennessee and Virginia.
• Rock of Ages Corp. of Concord, N.H., names Rudolph R. “Rick” Wrabel as president and COO of the company’s memorials division. He previously served as president of the consumer products group of Houston-based Pennzoil and president of North American operations for the Oral B Laboratories Division of Gillette Co.
• Malcolm Macquarrie joins KMT Waterjet Systems as vice president for sales and marketing for North America. He comes to the Baxter Springs, Kan.-based company (formerly Ingersoll-Rand Waterjet) with a background in sales and marketing for a broad range of industrial products and capital equipment. The company also appoints John Dedic as North American marketing manager; he joins the firm after 14 years with Danly Die Set in a number of marketing and product management positions.
• Adam D. Pearlstein is the new national sales director for Stone Care International Inc. Before joining the Owings Mills, Md.-based company late last year, he worked as a loan analyst for United Equity.
• Richard Chapman is the new senior vice president of national sales for Makita USA Inc. in La Mirada, Calif. He previously served as a vice president for sales and marketing for the James Hardie building-products company of Mission Viejo, Calif.
• Luigi Ciargaglia of Stone Tek in Addison, Ill., won a free trip to the Coverings 2004 event earlier this year He received the trip in a raffle as part of a seminar presented by the National Association of Floor Covering Distributors.
