Xiamen Show Sets New Record

XIAMEN, China – At a time when trade shows tend to draw fewer attendees, the Xiamen Stone Fair bucked the trend last month.
The event drew 86,713 attendees on March 6-9, according to show producer Xiamen Jinhongxin Exhibition Co. Ltd., which bested the show’s 2008 attendance by 22 percent. Foreign attendees from 125 countries comprised 13,896 of the crowd, also up nearly 18 percent from last year.
The event featured 1,211 exhibiting companies, up 21 percent from 2008. The vendor selection included exhibitors from 42 countries; the 2008 show featured representatives from 35 companies.
The 2009 attendee mark represented another dramatic rise for the Xiamen event, which drew 42,500 in 2006 and 50,000 in 2007.
The 10th annual Xiamen Stone Fair will be held March 6-9, 2010, at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.
