• Georgia Marble Co. and Polycor announce the promotion of Normand Girard as general manager of Georgia Stone Quarries Inc. in Tate, Ga. For the past six years, Girard held the general manager position at the Quebec-based firms Granilac and Polycor, and served as operations manager at Polycor.
• Aegis Commerce, a Rosemont, Pa.-based company that provides inventory- and order-management software applications, successfully launched its StoneLogic Supply Chain Management software at Akropolis Marble and Granite in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. Aegis implemented a Web-based order and inventory management system to automate the flow of granite slabs from the quarry through the fabrication process and final delivery as a finished countertop.
Andreas Kamaratos, Akropolis president, said the Aegis solution has dramatically reduced order processing time, data-entry tasks and reconciliation errors. “The Aegis Commerce system has enabled us to focus on our core business,” he says. “StoneLogic is the solution that has facilitated streamlining the operations of our entire company’s business functions.”
