Coverings 2004: Exhibition

   • The first Coverings in the new North-South hall of Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center;
   • The first educational program with stone seminars coordinated by the Marble Institute of America (MIA); and
   • The first Coverings staged by its new management company, National Trade Productions (NTP) of Alexandria, Va.
   The event, from March 23-26, includes plenty of education, but the main attraction remains the trade-show floor, with more than 1,400 exhibitors offering goods and services throughout a half-million square-feet of space.
   The biggest thing that’s new about the show floor is its location; after literally pushing the limit of the original convention center, Coverings moves across International Drive to the new North/South hall. Stone suppliers, machine manufacturers and supply companies will take over the north side of the exhibition space, with the remainder taken by tile-related exhibitors.
   Navigating through Coverings can be a challenge for first-time visitors and repeat attendees alike. One of the best places to start is at www.coverings.com, where various groups – including fabricators – can click on an associated icon and get the main details on areas and events of interest.
   Also returning this year is “My Agenda,” where Website users can comb through the online exhibitor list and add companies to a personalized online list. It’s also possible to locate exhibitor booths online, using an interactive map under the Exhibition: Floor Plan section of the Coverings Website.
   The deadline’s already passed for online registration; if you didn’t sign up in advance, you’ll need to register on-site at the convention center. Registration for the exhibition – along with the educational seminars – is free.
   The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. March 23-25, and from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on March 26.
