StonExpo 2005: Making The Point

   The annual industry event is set for Oct. 19-22 at at the Las Vegas Convention Center, but there’s one sure way to cash in before the show opens. Register for StonExpo by September 30, and get free admission to the expo hall, and discounted pricing on conference packages.
   “StonExpo 2005 in Las Vegas is going to be the best event yet, and the industry support we have received confirms that,” says Michelle Troop, senior show director of StonExpo. “Exhibitors have been making their plans to participate in StonExpo in Las Vegas for months and now stone-industry professionals can register and confirm their participation in the industry event too.”
   Registration and housing forms at www.stonexpo.com allow attendees to complete arrangements online. For the best deals on housing, airfare and car rental, attendees should sign up as soon as possible; there’s a variety of hotel prices across the scale, plus Web discounts for airfare and car rentals.
   As StonExpo’s new owner and producer, Hanley Wood Exhibitions presides over an exhibit hall that, as of mid-August, is 97-percent sold-out. It’s the main focus for many attendees, and the show floor will be open from 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Oct. 20-21, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Oct. 22.
   StonExpo 2005 will also feature comprehensive education with pre-show workshops taking place on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Seminars are scheduled for Oct. 20-22 from 7:45-9 a.m. and 9:15-10:30 a.m.
   The Marble Institute of America (MIA) will also once again host its Member Gala Reception and Pinnacle Awards Luncheon during StonExpo. The reception is set for Oct. 20 from 6-7:30 p.m., with the luncheon following on Oct. 21 from 12:15 p.m.-1:45 p.m. MIA members receive discounted pricing on conference packages and MIA events.
   StonExpo’s official sponsors are the MIA and the Natural Stone Alliance (NSA). The NSA includes the American Monument Association, Canadian Stone Association, Elberton Granite Association, National Building Granite Quarries Association and Northwest Granite Manufacturers Association.
   StonExpo’s official endorser is Veronafiere/Marmomacc. Veronafiere organizes 30 to 35 exhibitions annually in Verona, Italy, including Marmomacc, the world's largest exhibition in the natural-stone industry set for Sept. 29-Oct. 2.
