The Marble Institute of America (MIA), Cleveland, releases an updated version of the Residential Stone Countertop Installation technical module. Curated by a special task force composed of industry leaders, MIA Accredited Natural Stone Fabricators, and representatives of the Stone Fabricators Alliance, the publication includes 17 pages of detailed drawings on all aspect of countertop installation, including a section on making accurate field measurements; clarification of lippage for countertops vs. peninsulas; and pictures of commonly used edges.

CaesarStone US, Van Nuys, Calif., lanuches its CaesarStone app for the iPhone. Available through the Apple iPhone App Stone, the tool includes an interactive design module to drag-and-drop the colors of the quartz surface for matching other kitchen/bathroom accessories, and a function to do instant matching with a phone photo and surface colors. The app also includes a list of showroom locations and dealers (with Google Maps for directions), galleries of projects, and the ability to save colors/designs and share them on Facebook.
