Diamond Tooling Showcase 2011
BITS
Pearl Abrasive Co., Commerce, Calif., introduces several new bits to its line of diamond tooling for the natural-stone market. P3 Tile/Stone Core Drill Bits are engineered with a vacuum-brazed bond for fast, clean, chip-free drilling and also have a core removal slot. Designed for wet drilling of porcelain, tile, marble, granite and other materials, they are available in 3/16-9/16 diameters with a 3/8” shank. T
The P4 Core Bit is engineered with ADM™ (Advance Diamond Matrix) diamond pattern and layering technology and designed with extended segments for added durability. The P4 is designed for cutting holes in granite and other natural stone in sizes from 1”-2” diameters. It can be used wet or dry.
The P5 Core Bit offers all of the features of the P4 (ADM, same diameters, wet and dry applications), but is designed with vacuum-brazed protection on the outside and inside of the core for added durability and core protection, plus extra-coarse diamonds for aggressive and ultra-fast cutting.

RESIN DIAMOND WHEELS
Salem Stone, Winston-Salem, N.C., offers MAKO Resin Diamond Wheels for optimizing any inline edger profiling/polishing application. These wheels produce high stock removal, long life and best finish compared to conventional polishing bricks. MAKO Resin Diamond Wheels perform equally well on any brand of inline edging machines when producing flat or curved edges. The wheels are available in eight grits from 60/80 to 5000, as well as in a unique metal-resin combination wheel used specifically on flat edges to refine the saw-cut edge to allow the finer grit wheels to polish efficiently.

MULTI-EDGE POLISHING SYSTEM
Superabrasive Inc., Hoschton, Ga., introduces the TORO Pro-Edge Multi-Edge Polishing System. The five-step system is designed for any single head, multi-edge automated polish machine. The TORO ProEdge features two metal-bond shaping wheels in coarse and fine grits, as well as three polishing pads.
Because of its design, the TORO ProEdge is able to achieve a polish on the flat portion of the edge using five steps, rather than the eight required by other systems. Its design also allows water to flow between the edges of the tool, preventing burning and smearing on engineered materials. The system is designed to fabricate and polish various profiles including Flat, Bevel, Half- and Full-Bullnose and Pencil Round in both natural and engineered stones.
