Park Industries Provides Thinstone Expo (April 15)
A group of hardscape stone producers from around the United States gathered at Park’s headquarters to get the latest on slicing the product thin … and expanding the market regionally and nationally.
The day included a full line of presentations, including market and marketing themes such as “Park Way & Market Resources” from Park’s Mike Schlough and Christine Klimpel, and “Understanding the Thinstone Market” from Park’s Mark Lindell.
Other market topics included “How We Integrated Thin Stone Veneer Into Our Product Offering” by TJ Jaworsky of Blake’s Wholesale Stone in Ridgecrest, Calif.; and “Packaging for Thinstone Veneer & Marketing Thinstone” from Holly Vargo of Halbert Mill Co. in Jacksonville, Texas, and Jim Eckberg of Eckberg’s Discount Communications in St. Cloud.
The nitty-gritty of ownership also received its due with “ROI of Thinstone & Machine Information” from Park’s Steve Flynn and Ron Eikmeier; “Tips on Selecting the Right Blade for ThinStone,” from Diamant Boart’s Rick Frank; “Water Management” by Bob Then of Park; and “Designing & Implementing a Thin Veneer Program to Meet Your
Specific Needs” from Rob Broekhuizen of K2 Stone Inc. in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
The group also received detailed demos of Park’s equipment line for stone-veneer production.
