Xiamen Stone Show: 120K+ on the Floor (April 5)
The March 6-9 event – now the world’s largest dimensional-stone gathering – drew 120,478, topping its own standard of 101,528 set last year. The 2011 mark also represents an amazing growth for a show drawing 42,500 five years ago.
This year’s show also bested its previous efforts in exhibits, as 1,370 vendors from 50 countries held forth on an exhibit floor of 105,000 m² (1.13 million ft²).
As expected, a large majority of attendees hailed from China. However, 22,285 international visitors – 18.4 percent of the total turnstile count – came from 140 countries.
Officials at Xiamen Jinhongxin Exhibition Co. Ltd., the event’s producers, anticipate growth at next year’s event, set again for March 6-9. An estimated 1,500 exhibitors will operate in 115,000 m² (1.23 million ft²).
