MACHINE CENTERS, EDGER
Intermac America, Charlotte, N.C., adds three machines to its stone-production lineup. The Cobalm Idea Top 20.10 and the Idea Plus 1.2 machining centers, offered exclusively in North America by Intermac, are 3-axes machining centers featuring HSD electrospindles and moving bridge structures with bases and bridges built in thick electro-welded steel. The LCV-711M.straight continuous-belt edge polisher is designed for flat edges and chamfering of stone up to 6cm in thickness.

THIN BLADE
Diatex S.p.A., Villaveria, Italy, introduces the Speedo line of bridge-saw blades. Using dedicated flanges for support, the thin-segment blades can cut up to 4cm deep at up to 6 meters per minute. Blades are available for cutting marble, hard/medium granite and soft granite/manufactured stone in diameters of 350mm, 400mm and 500mm. All the blades are cobalt- and nickel-free.

ANGLE GRINDER
Metabo Corp., West Chester, Pa., introduces the WP8-115 Quick 4-1/2″ angle grinder, featuring a non-locking paddle switch for added safety. The 5.3-lbs unit features an 8.0 A motor with 800 watts of power and a no-load speed of 10,000 rpm; an anti-vibration side handle absorbs up to 60 percent of vibration. Other features include tool-less locking wheel guard with seven positions, spindle lock and the company’s S-Automatic safety slip clutch.
