Pacific Marble and Granite, Middletown, Conn.
Not surprisingly, one of Gaetano Bramato’s jobs is to check with each customer at the end of the job to make sure there are no complaints.
“Today, we get customers coming into the showroom that we did jobs for 20 years ago,” Carmelo Bramato says proudly. “They have new jobs, and they’re still coming back.
“Service is number one with us.”
With two out of his three children involved in the company, a wife whom he praises (“I think she’s the one who keeps the business going; she’s very good with customers.”), a successful restaurant launched, and a CNC machine in his sights, Carmelo Bramato is a happy man.
He also doesn’t mind admitting that these days his thoughts sometimes turn to a house on the beach in Florida where he can get away, at least from the worst of Connecticut’s winters. But, as far as totally retiring, he says it’s not likely.
“Stefania loves her job in the showroom,” he says. “I’m pretty sure Gaetano is going to take the business over, but I also know I’m always going to be involved. It won’t be 100-percent of the time, like it is now, but I’ll be in and out, just to keep an eye on things.”
