Squak Mountain Stone™
Amee Quiriconi, the inventor of Squak Mountain Stone™ took a slightly different path to the recycled materials market. Inspired by an assignment on creating healthy local economies, Squak Mountain is a fibrous material made from at least 50-percent recycled paper and low-carbon cement. Although it does require sealing, the result is a hand-crafted product that looks like limestone or soapstone, and is available in five different colors: Natural, Thunder, Latte, Otter and Quirault. Squak Mountain is sold as 56” X 96” slabs with a nominal thickness of 1 3/8”, and half slabs are available. (Tiger Mountain Innovations also offers Trinity Glass Products with slabs made from at least 70 percent recycled glass and low-carbon cement.) Squak Mountain Stone is available from selected dealers nationwide.
