Free Education:StonExpo 2011
Admission to the event’s lineup of seminars and workshops on Jan. 24-27 will be free to attendees registering before Dec. 16, according to Hanley Wood Exhibitions, the owner/producer of StonExpo/Marmomacc America.
“By offering the educational program free with exhibits admission,” says Dana Teague, Hanley Wood show director. “StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas is making a commitment to our attendees that they can still receive the top-notch education that they have come to expect over the years, and that StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas is truly investing in the success of their business.”
The lineup for the 2011 edition includes 25 sessions geared specifically for the stone trade, with topics including fabrication, restoration/renovation, building trades/trends and marketing. And, with the Surfaces event running concurrently at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, attendees also get access to at least 25 more sessions applicable to today’s business environment.
The schedule includes the keynote session, Between a Rock and a Hard Place: Overcoming Adversity, by outdoorsman Aron Ralston. He’s also the subject of a new film, 127 Hours, by Academy Award®-winning director Danny Boyle.
A schedule-at-a-glance is available here, and it’s worth a look before registering online; attendees pick their sessions as part of the process.
All attendees will pay a nominal ($15) fee for registering for the event, which covers admission to the StonExpo and Surfaces trade-show halls on Jan. 25-27. Through Dec. 16, the education is offered at no charge; after that, exhibits and education will cost $125 (and the halls-only pass will be $35).
Online registration is available now at the StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas website.
