Aug. 16 is New MIA Pinnacles Deadline
CLEVELAND – Good news: If you’re planning to enter the Marble Institute of America’s 2010 Pinnacle Awards, you now have extra time to get your work in.
However, don’t delay. The reprieve’s only good until Aug. 16.
The extension aims to gather more entries for the annual competition that honors MIA-member companies and projects completed from January 2007 until this July. Project teams must include at least one MIA member company.
Competition judges will aevaluate traditional criteria of beauty, creativity, ingenuity, craftsmanship and suitability of materials. Meanwhile, projects displaying superior effort, innovation and execution towards sustainable building goals could also be considered for the MIA’s first Pinnacle Award for Sustainable Design.
The 2010 Pinnacle Awards categories will include commercial interior, commercial exterior, residential interior or exterior, and renovation/restoration projects. Winners will be featured in a special presentation during an awards event during StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas in Las Vegas next January.
One entry will also be awarded the Grande Pinnacle Award, sponsored by Marmomacc; the winner receives the Grande Pinnacle trophy and a trip to Marmomacc 2011 in Verona, Italy.
The Pinnacle Awards program is facilitated by the MIA and made possible by the generous sponsorship of MAPEI.
Complete entry information is available on the MIA website or by calling MIA at 440-250-9222.
