ISFA Sets Green Meet
The industry group will offer a full day of shop and project tours on Oct. 16 highlighting the use of sustainable-design materials and compliance with the Leadership in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design™ (LEED®) rating system from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The event includes a shop tour of Refresh Interiors Inc., a St. Peterburg shop specializing in countertops with green materials such as Vetrazzo® and PaperStone™. Refresh’s Gene McDonald and Josh Bomstein, president of the USGBC’s Florida Gulf Coast Chapter will also discuss green products for countertops and dealing with architects and contractors with the materials.
Other tours include a look at a home with a LEED Platinum certification and a “zero-energy” commercial building. Even the event’s lunch will be served at a restaurant in a LEED-certified building.
