Cosentino NY ECO™ Launch
Cosentino hosted a editor’s launch and evening cocktail reception on April 21 to offer ECO™ by Cosentino, the company’s countertop and surfacing material composed of 75-percent recycled material.
Set in the glass penthouse of the Chelsea Arts Tower, the event featured an exhibition curated by designer David Stark of sculptures showcasing ECO’s raw materials, including an 11’-high “75%” sculpture filled with shards of porcelain, glass, and mirrors.
The all-day launch event kicked off with an introduction of ECO by Lorenzo Marquez, Cosentino marketing VP, followed by a panel discussion with top industry leaders including Roberto Contreras, Jr. president/CEO, Cosentino North America; Dr. Luis de Garrido, president of The National Association for Housing of the Future, Spain Designer and Architect of GREEN BOX; and Sara Ann Busby, CKD. former president of the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
The program continued into the evening with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for more than 250 industry professionals and New York members of AIA (American Institute of Architects) and ASID (American Society of Interior Designers).
ECO, the result of a $6 million research and development investment, offers a hard, durable surface that has high stain-, scratch- and scorch-resistance. Non-porous and requiring no sealers, the material is available in 10 individual designer colors.
