Calypso, WJS Join Forces

DALLAS – Calypso WaterJet and WaterJet Wasserstrahl Schneidetechnik GmbH (WJS) recently announced a partnership for delivering and servicing industrial waterjects in Europe.
In the agreement, Dallas-based Calypso will be the primary supplier of waterjet systems and control to WJS. In return, WJS – based in Neustadt, Germany – will assume Calypso’s sales and service in continental Europe.
The two companies will also collaborate on waterjet-system designs, with four products set for the European/Middle East market.
Calypso is a vertically integrated manufacturer of waterjet-cutting systems, water-recycling systems and accessories. Founded in 1992, the company’s primary base is North America; it began exporting to Europe in 2005.
WJS began in 1998 as the German sales/service subsidiary of a Swedish manufacturer of waterjet systems. In 2005, WJS became an independent company, building a large waterjet system sales/service organization in Europe and the Middle East.
