• VT Industries of Holstein, Iowa, is now a Silestone® co-exclusive distributor and fabricator, putting 1,200 slabs on order late last year – with an expected additional 5,000 slabs in 2008. The company will use its Rome, Ga., facility to initially fabricate the material from Cosentino North America; other plants are planned in California, Iowa and Canada.
• Vetter Stone will provide the limestone cladding for the new Minnesota Twins baseball stadium now under construction in Minneapolis. The Mankato, Minn., Free Press reports that the job will use 100,000 ft² of stone cut into 4”-thick panels – a haul of 100 truckloads from a quarry located near Mankato. The stone will be anchored to pre-cast panels; shipments should begin in March.
• Intermac Canada signed an agreement with Derusha Supply Inc. to represent Intermac products in Quebec and and the Maritime provinces. Headquartered in Stanstead, Quebec, Derusha Supply will take on the complete line of Intermac stone-production equipment,
• Stone 3000 relocated in November to 115-10th St. in the Cold Spring Business Park in Cold Spring, Minn. The quarry-consulting business now offers a showroom to display stone-cutting equipment; the company, headed by Aleksandar Tomovic, is the North American agent for OGYU Manufacturing Equipment.
