• Biesse Canada opens an in Toronto this month. The 6,200 ft² facility includes a 5,050 ft² showroom featuring an Intermac’s Master 33 Twin CNC production center.
• Bonanza Trade & Supply opens a state-of-the-art Website at www.stonetooling.com that allows customers to purchase more than 4,000 products in categories ranging from diamond tooling to stone care to power tools. The Website also provides technical information regarding blade speeds, stone care, edge details and troubleshooting techniques.
• MAPEI Corporation broke ground on Nov. 12 on a project to double the size of its Garland, Texas, plant. The 79,000 ft² (7 339 m2) of new space will include warehousing and distribution of its adhesives, grouts and accessory products, as well as further production capacity planned for the middle of next year. The new facility will also include space for the MAPEI Technical Institute (MTI).
• Chicago Granite & Marble revamps its Franklin Park, Ill., warehouse and fabrication center in Franklin Park, Ill., to include a full-service customer-service center. The entire plant, located near O’Hare International Airport, occupies a combined slab-storage and fabrication-shop space of 60,000 ft².
• LATICRETE International Inc. will open a new 80,000 ft² manufacturing facility next month in Lebanon, Ore. The facility will offer products from the Bethany, Conn.-based manufacturer of ceramic tile and stone installation products to aid builders in reaching compliance with LEED guidelines in the Pacific Northwest.
