Northwood Gives Fab Seminar

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – More than 100 people from the United States and Canada gathered here on Sept. 12-15 for Northwood Machine Manufacturing Co.’s inaugural Annual Open House and Stone Fabrication Seminar.
The core of the four days involved a series of presentations was given by stone fabricators who own both Northwood and other brands of equipment about the principles and concepts of being successful in the stone industry. One of the key points made was the benefit of using cutting-edge technology to increase production, process complex jobs, and reduce material waste.
The event also showcased Northwood’s manufacturing and fabrication capabilities, providing knowledge for prospective customers to make a fully informed machine purchase decision.
Third-party vendors also gave presentations on items critical for business owners to consider when investing in new equipment for their shops. Some of the topics covered included water treatment, tooling, material handling, leasing and job software.
The vendors at the event included AlphaCAM/Planit Solutions; Blick Industries; Braxton-Bragg Corp.: Granite City Tools Inc.; GranQuartz LLC; KMT Waterjet; Laser Products Corp.; Magellan Capital; Moraware; Quail Leasing; Template Technologies; Tyrolit Vincent; and Water Treatment Technologies.
On the last day of the event, attendees participated in a roundtable discussion to provide feedback to Northwood concerning its stone machining centers.
Attendees also enjoyed a barbeque lunch prepared by Mike Yates, owner of Counter Solutions in Jackson, Tenn., and a Northwood customer. The group set sail on a dinner cruise on the Ohio River and had a private tour and dinner at Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum.
