StonExpo East Picking Up Steam
DALLAS – StonExpo East, the stone-industry event set for next March in Atlanta, is already 70-percent sold out, according to show producer Hanley Wood Exhibitions.
“It is great hearing the fantastic support that StonExpo East has attracted, but we are not surprised,” says Gary Distelhorst, executive director of the Marble Institute of America in Cleveland. “The stone industry is very strong in the East and particularly in the Southeast where StonExpo East will take place. We had a very strong show in Atlanta in 2003, and spring 2007 will be even stronger.”
“Our goal is to work with the Marble Institute of America, Natural Stone Council and all of our partner organizations to fulfill the needs of the industry,” says Michelle Troop, StonExpo senior show director for Hanley Wood in Dallas. “We were asked to deliver the stone-industry event to the east as a way to ensure that this important region’s needs were met …we couldn’t be more pleased with the industry’s response.”
StonExpo East will be held biennially in odd-numbered years, which correlates to Coverings’ announced scheduling of its event in Chicago every two years. The Las Vegas-based StonExpo is held annually.
More than 115 companies have already signed up for approximately 60,000 net square feet at the Atlanta show, including Park Industries, Salem Stone, G & L Marble, Z. Bavelloni, Breton, Eurostone, GranQuartz, East West Stone and Architectural Marble and Granite.
