DuPont Building Innovations, Wilmington, Del., offers five new colors in its Zodiaq® line for 2011: Coarse Pepper, with white veining through grays and reflective black flecks; Caraway, an almond with waves of cinnamon and ginger-root flecks; Poppy Seed, a deep gray with peppery charred flecks; Chicory, with grays and taupes dotted with sea-salt-like flecks; and Sage, a browned rosemary with anise/vanilla-bean flecks.
The company also makes three popular colors – Antique Pearl, Vela Brown and Abyss Black – available in Zodiaq’s lowest-price category.

Husqvarna Construction Products, Olathe, Kan., introduces the Husqvarna Versa-Cut, with alternating turbo segments with a total height of .4” (.3” diamond depth, .1” segment base. The blade can cut a variety of hard materials, including granite, masonry and ceramic tile; it’s available in diameters of 12”, 14” and 16”.

Applied Diamond Tools, Chesterfield, Mo., introduces a 4” vacuum-brazed diamond grinding pad for creating a small radius by hand, smoothing out cuts, and removing materials where necessary. The 30-grit pad is attached with quick-change Velcro® to a semi-rigid rubber backer for absorbing noise and vibration. The pad is designed to be used wet, with an optimal speed of 4,000-5,000rpm.

Jet Edge Inc., St. Michael, Minn., introduces the Mid Rail Gantry Model MR513 waterjet, capable of processing material up to 5’ X 13’. The three-axes machine comes standard with one cutting head, with an option to add a second. Jet Edge intensifier pumps are available from 25 HP-280 HP in electric and diesel models; the unit also includes a industrial PC controller with the ability to program all three axes.

Granite City Tool Co., Waite Park, Minn., offers Aardwolf Panel Clamps for manual lifting of stone pieces. The units lock on pieces automatically with rubber-lined, spring-loading heads; the aluminum-body construction also includes molded rubber hand grips, with a range of 0”-2 1/2”. MAPEI, Deerfield Beach, Fla., introduces Grout Maximizer™ a premium latex-based additive for mixing with the company’s Keracolor™ S Portland-cement-based grout to increase resistance to water and oil-based stains for interior and exterior projects. When added to the grout at the time of installation, Grout Maximizer is easier to apply than epoxy grouts, but still provides reduced absorption of water, dirt and spills. Use of this additive doesn’t affect the grout color and eliminates an extra sealing step.
