Letters: Sticky Situations II

I just received your September issue, and would like to comment on the inaccuracy of one of the articles.
There is an otherwise excellent article (“Sticky Situations”) by Jason Nottestad. In the article, however, he repeatedly refers to epoxy when it is clear from his descriptions that he is really talking about polyester.
As a manufacturer of both types of resin systems, it is amazing to us here at Bonstone Materials Corporation that a very large proportion of our market is still unaware of the differences between these two extremely different resin chemistries. Using the wrong resin, or using it incorrectly, can have disastrous results.
It is our constant quest to educate our customers about the correct use of our products, and if necessary our competitors’ products as well. Having such inaccuracies present in one of the most-respected publications in the industry does little to assist your primary market, the countertop fabricators and installers. I feel it is in your best interests, as well as those of your subscribers, to correct these misrepresentations in your next issue.
Thank you for publishing a great magazine!
